Energypac Engineering Limited is the pioneer of heavy electrical engineering and power transmission apparatus manufacturing in Bangladesh. Founded in 1982 by a consortium of visionary electrical engineers led by Rabiul Alam and Humayun Rashid, Energypac transitioned Bangladesh’s power grid from relying on European and East Asian imports to utilizing domestically engineered transformers and switchgear.

Operating advanced manufacturing plants in Savar, Energypac is the only manufacturer in Bangladesh capable of engineering and type-testing power transformers up to 230kV rating.

Heavy Manufacturing Capabilities

Energypac’s specialized manufacturing units in Savar feature state-of-the-art infrastructure:

  1. Ultra-High Voltage Transformer Plant: Cleanroom winding bays with constant-tension horizontal and vertical winding machines, vapor-phase drying autoclaves, and computerized oil treatment plants.
  2. KEMA-Certified Testing Laboratory: Full impulse voltage and partial discharge testing laboratory certified under IEC standards for international compliance.
  3. Switchgear & Automation Facility: Automated CNC punching and bending lines producing air-insulated (AIS) and gas-insulated (GIS) switchgear panels equipped with digital microprocessor protection relays.

EPC Substation Delivery & Exports

Energypac has engineered and energized over 500 high-voltage substations for utilities including PGCB, DESCO, DPDC, and BREB. The company regularly exports distribution transformers and switchgear to regional international markets including India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Ghana.
