Corporate Overview

PRAN-RFL Group is the largest agro-processing and light engineering manufacturing conglomerate in Bangladesh. Established in 1981 by Major General (Retd.) Amjad Khan Chowdhury, the group commenced operations with tube-well casting and light foundry engineering under the RFL brand before expanding into industrial food processing under the PRAN banner in 1990.

Operating extensive industrial parks in Ghorashal, Habiganj, Natore, and Chittagong, PRAN-RFL employs more than 140,000 workers directly, making it the single largest private employer in the country outside the RMG sector.

Vertical Manufacturing Divisions

The group operates dual industrial engines:

1. PRAN (Programme for Rural Advancement Nationally): Direct contract farming networks engaging over 100,000 domestic fruit, dairy, spice, and grain growers. Produces juices, carbonated beverages, biscuits, culinary spices, dairy milk, and confectionery.
2. RFL (Rangpur Foundry Limited): The country’s premier polymer, PVC, and consumer hardware manufacturer, producing extruded uPVC pressure pipes, water storage tanks, kitchenware, electrical cables, and household furniture.
3. Duranta Bicycles: Export-oriented automated bicycle manufacturing plant supplying high-grade alloy bikes to the European Union and regional markets.

Global Export Dominance

PRAN-RFL has earned the National Export Trophy for over two consecutive decades. With distribution subsidiaries in India, the UAE, the USA, and Malaysia, PRAN products are marketed in 145+ countries across North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
